Mindfulness: awareness and presence

Mindfulness is:

  • A A MEAN TO DISCOVER WHO YOU ARE using the skills that already exist, of body, heart, mind. It does not require special conditions. It's about dealing with your ordinary experience.: with your life right now, as it is.
  • A CAMBINE TO FREEDOM to be who and what we are, freedom to implement our potentials by expressing them in the world. And as a result, when we experience our potential, we turn to how to help others.
  • A way to ARRIVAL OF INNATE CAPITATIONS and bring them into a practice that allows us to go deep into the experience of our lives.
  • A MENTAL EQUIPMENT able to reduce suffering, to safeguard and maintain the acquired well-being and prepare the ground for a positive personal transformation.
  • A special way of BRING ATTENTION: care, care, care, care, care, care, care, care. First of all, towards oneself, towards one's own difficulties, consequently towards what happens outside, whether events or people.
  • A PSICOLOGICAL PROCESS fundamental that can change the way we respond to the inevitable difficulties of life, not only to stress and everyday existential challenges, but also to serious psychological problems (such as chronic depression, pathological addictions, anxiety disorders of different types). Thoughts, emotions and actions are freed from dysfunctional conditioning learned during their own life history, which are at the basis of the formation and maintenance of many conditions of suffering through a progressive process of acquiring awareness and decentralisation.
  • It's a METHOD OF TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING through which we can change the way we interact with experience, accessing new possibilities, new ways of acting, seeing the world and living relationships, allowing greater freedom of choice and creativity in the various areas of daily action. It allows us to become more aware of how our beliefs, beliefs and mental patterns influence our moods and consequently our behaviors. Through awareness mindfulness we develop better mind-body integration and learn to harmonize emotions with the mental sphere, thus leaving room for the emergence of those who are their real needs, valorizing their potentialities and attitudes and learning to see things with new lenses.
  • It's a METHOD OF BEING that helps to be well with oneself, and to develop a more effective and constructive relationship with others.
  • Paraphrasing a famous American osteopath (J. Jealous, 2015) I like to think of mindfulness as a means to discover within myself "an inner room where we are a guest and a beginner, where we learn to trust in the process and in the awareness"...
  • It's "FOOT OF MIND", a state in which the fundamental and balancing abilities of our minds are active; it is not something to learn, rather to awaken and cultivate. A fullness different from the ordinary state in which thoughts clutter the mind.
  • and CULTIVE: it is an inner gardening   sow, take care of the soil, plants, have patience, enjoy the process and the fruits...
  • The essence of mindfulness is listening deep   cultivating an intimate relationship of intimacy with your own life that blooms, as if it were what matters. And it is. More than you think. And more than you can ever think.  Jon Kabat Zinn, 2012

In its essence it is simple… and in its simplicity it is powerful and transformative.

It's not exactly easy, but it's not difficult either, because we use things we already have, things we're already familiar with, but we use them with a different perspective because this practice is an expression of a profound wisdom intrinsic to the human spirit.

It's a practice we can take wherever we go and that will take us to places we've never been, because that's what practice does: it takes us from the known to something we don't yet know and that allows us to get in touch with deeper meanings in our lives.
